To celebrate the start of Movember, the month where the legendary men’s health charity asks men to grow a moustache (the message this year is: ‘whatever you grow will save a bro’), The Book of Man is teaming up with them for a special one-off event at the Movember offices.

The evening will feature a panel of experts looking at the issue of mental health for men, and the overall difficulties in – and solutions to – getting men to open up about their problems.

Panellists include:

Sarah Coghlan, Movember’s Global Director of Health Campaigns & Policy.

Dan Dalton, author of ‘Johnny Ruin’ and masculinity and mental health.

Euan Plater, host of the ‘XY’ podcast which delves into men’s unspoken problems.

The panel will discuss the pressures facing men with regards to work and sporting life, the expectations of success and power, and the hidden fears and anxieties which are often thought of as ‘weaknesses’. How can men deal with their personal worries, and learn not to hide them in their professional lives, but use them for growth.

What to expect:

– Presentation of a new piece of research by Movember about the pressure on men to ‘Man Up’.

– Panel Q&A featuring experts on men’s health.

– A barber to get the men prepped for their moustache growth in November

– Beer from ethical drinks brand, Freedom Brewery

All ticket proceeds will be going to Movember.

For those who can’t make it, you can sign up and donate at movember.com
