New Masculinity Podcast: Derek Owusu
Masculinity
Episode 2 of The Book of Man's new podcast features writer and poet Derek Owusu in an honest and searing discussion around mental health and male identity.
In the new episode of our New Masculinity podcast we chatted to poet and writer Derek Owusu, the man behind the important recent book ‘SAFE: On Black British Men Reclaiming Space’. In a wide ranging interview looking at mental health problems, identity and Last of the Summer Wine, Derek shows himself as one of the leading literary voices of our times.
Also just a warning that this episode contains frank discussion of serious mental health conditions which may be upsetting in places. As ever, we recommend support services like CALM – who have an excellent webchat service now for support with any and all issues – and Samaritans too.
Listen to the previous episode of the podcast featuring actor Alex Lanipekun.
The podcast is sponsored by our friends at Harry’s, who are doing amazing things to support men today.
Thanks a million to Entale for production.
