Sacha Dhawan of Doctor Who fame, along with musician Tom Speight, Paralympian Ali Jawad and activist Mesha Moinirad talk Crohn's and Colitis
Doctor Who and The Great star Sacha Dhawan, musician Tom Speight, Paralympian Ali Jawad and activist and educator Mesha Moinirad took part in a panel hosted by The Book of Man recently to raise awareness around Crohn’s and Colitis.
Organised by the charity Crohn’s & Colitis UK – who are doing phenomenal work in supporting people living with the chronic gut conditions – the panel featured the four men talking about their experiences and how it has affected, and continues to affect their lives.
As you’ll see in the video, there is no cure for the conditions, which can make them a difficult thing to deal with – but, and here’s the crux, reaching out to find information and support, both medical and emotional, can make a huge difference.
One of the aims of the panel was to simply normalise men talking about difficult issues. Something we all find difficult, particularly in front of and with other men. Seeing Sacha, Tom, Mesha and Ali do this, was really quite remarkable and inspiring, we’re sure you’ll agree. Huge thanks to them.
And thanks to Crohn’s & Colitis UK for their work and support for this project.
