The Book of Man Festival 2020 is happening in March and this year The Penis Gallery is returning after a highly successful night last year which showed penises in their (strictly flaccid) glory and featured a panel discussion about taboos and anxieties around the little (or big) fellas.

This year we’re upping the ante as The Penis Gallery meets The Vagina Museum on 10th March at The Book Club. In what amounts to a formalised game of ‘Doctors and Nurses’ the vibe is very much “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.” In an artistic manner of course. Yes we’ll have Florence Schechter, Director of The Vagina Museum, telling us all about the ground-breaking new space in Camden and talking about the misinformation and outright lies about the vagina.

We’ll also be talking to Dr Chris Morriss-Roberts, who has studied and written about the role of penises in the locker room, and male body perceptions in general.

While we also have a further coup in welcoming artist Jamie McCartney, the man behind The Great Wall of Vagina, as well as his Penis Flags, is a man very much au fait with all genitalia matters.

We are also welcoming the Josh and Greg from exciting new sex toy brand Kandid who will be telling us about what’s happening on the frontline of pleasure and understanding.

Oh, and of course…

Last year we called out for images of penises to display at a Penis Gallery and boy did that get out of hand. They landed in our inbox by the hundreds and gave us a selection headache which was traumatic on so many levels. This year, we haven’t learnt a thing, and we’re asking you to send in photos of your penises again! The rules are the same:

  • strictly over-18s
  • flaccid penises only, no erections, it’s not about showing off
  • black and white photos – keep it arty!
  • all sizes and shapes welcome

Send your photos to: marian@thebookofman.com
