Sidecar Cocktails and The Great Escape
Drink
Now this is what we call an event: tickets now available for an evening of Rémy Martin Sidecars and a classic movie…
The Sidecar cocktail was created and named in the 1920’s after a certain US army captain whose preferred form of transport when out drinking in Paris was a sidecar. The original recipe mentioned by Harry MacElhone a century ago has evolved – today Rémy Martin recommends the ideal Sidecar measures of three parts Rémy Martin 1738, two parts Cointreau, one part fresh lemon juice, shaken together with ice and strained in a coupe glass, garnished with a lemon zest – but the appeal remains. And to celebrate the 100th anniversary of this iconic cocktail Rémy Martin will be hosting a number of soiree’s including this one…
An evening of old glamour, sidecar cocktails and good company hosted by one of UK’s top film critics, Anna Smith, to enjoy a private screening of The Great Escape (1963). Yes, it’s a brilliant chance to watch the all-time classic in luxury while Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Richard Attenborough, James Coburn et al get their hands mucky as they try to escape that prisoner of war camp…
Hosted at the Ham Yard Hotel theatre in London’s Soho, this intimate private screening will feature cocktails and canapes, followed by an introduction of the film by Anna Smith and the possibility for Q&As – and another cocktail – during the intermission.
Evening program below:
7pm – welcome Sidecar cocktails & canapes
7.30pm – introduction to the film by Anna Smith
7.45-9pm – movie part 1
9-9.25pm – cocktails and popcorn break
9.25pm – movie part 2
10.50pm – event ends
(Ticket includes 2 sidecar cocktails, canapes and popcorn + complimentary movie screening).
We’ll see you there, via the secret tunnel…
