Wild Turkey 101 Unveils New Design

It’s not just a Matthew McConaughey thing, we are fans of Wild Turkey for many other reasons, not least the taste. Their 101 flagship bourbon has long been a staple of The Book of Man bar (a fictional bar operating in our homes and minds). And now in a new effort to make us happy, Wild Turkey have revealed a brand-new redesign of the 101 – a new look that reimagines the traditional bourbon bottle, complete with details that mimic the silhouette of the wild turkey itself.

Wild Turkey has over 100 years in the bourbon industry, led by father-son master distilling duo, Jimmy and Eddie Russell; you don’t get more authentic than this. But the new bottle now offers a more modern and premium look reflecting the fact they’re more relevant than they’ve ever been.

The main feature of this new bottle is the beautifully-embossed, detailed wild turkey at the centre. Also, to showcase the brand’s signature deep, rich liquid colour, the bottle flaunts a smaller reduced paper front label that allows more space for the liquid to shine. The bottleneck has been refined with a base curve, inspired by the extended neck of the wild turkey standing tall and proud with new broad, confident shoulders.  A thicker base has been added for more stature, finished with a sharp edge detail – a nod to the turkey’s pointed spur.

We love these little details that go into bottle craft to elevate the whole experience, but of course the liquid is the big star and thankfully that is staying exactly the same, with that high-proof (50.5%) boldness delivered with vanilla and caramel notes. Love it.

The Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned:

WILD TURKEY 101 is the key to creating the perfect Old Fashioned. With its unique bold and spicy flavour, Wild Turkey Bourbon sings through when stirred with sugar, ice and bitters.

Ingredients:

 50ml Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon

10ml simple syrup

2 dashes of bitters

Orange peel

1 or 2 Large ice cubes

Method:

Add half the Wild Turkey 101 to a large rocks glass followed by the sugar syrup and bitters. Then a small amount of ice and stir for 20 seconds. Next add the rest of the Wild Turkey and ice to fill the glass. Rub the orange peel around the lip of the glass and drop into the drink.
