The Talisker and Parley Mission With Ross Edgley
Adventure
One of our Men of the Year, Ross Edgley talks to us about his latest inspiring endurance adventure by returning to the ocean for the first time in two years, completing a marathon swim during the hours of daylight off the Jurassic Coast, Dorset.
Swimming with the sun, Edgley’s impressive 32.9 mile distance is more than five times the length of an open water marathon. His journey from east to west saw him pass iconic costal landmarks including Old Harry Rocks, Kimmeridge Bay, Lulworth Cove, and Durdle Door. Submerged in the chilly 10.2-degree waters with minimal rest, he completed his marathon distance in just five and a half hours. Brrrrrrrrrr.
Watch our interview with the hero here:
Edgley’s swim marks the first activity of the three-year strategic partnership between Talisker and Parley, which was announced in October this year. In conducting the swim Edgley is helping to help raise awareness for the beauty and fragility of the oceans and the on-going work to restore, preserve and protect them for future generations.
